Background

EBS Automation Ltd's Managing Director (Michael Evans) started his career in engineering almost 30 years ago, initially as a mechanical apprentice with S.U Butec, a BL Cars group company, which was later taken over by a Japanese multinational automotive component manufacturer. His career progressed within the company becoming a senior design engineer for the Advanced Engineering department responsible for machine and automation design, production method improvements, new product introduction and localising production facilities from Japan to the UK.

The products produced by this company whilst being high volume had a requirement for 100% Leak Testing and Quality Checking giving him many years practical experience in this field, he also gained many experiences travelling to numerous parts of the world visiting and working with engineering companies on specific projects.

In 1996 Michael founded “EBS” which is now a successful engineering company that Specialises in the Design and Manufacture of Leak Test and Feature Checking Machines whilst also designing and manufacturing Production Machinery, Automated and Robotic Systems for various market sectors from Automotive to Pharmaceutical and Medical to Aerospace with a team of experienced engineers and apprentices.

As Board Member and Director of the Welsh Automotive Forum he is supportive of industry and has given his time to initiatives such as the Automotive Academy Curriculum Steering Group for the U.K. He is chair of Carmarthenshire Manufacturing Group representing 76 manufacturing companies and now has a proactive involvement with Coleg Sir Gar for Apprentice Development which is a topic that is personally important to him.
